Information We Collect

We collect information only to operate Lumia, personalize your experience, maintain subscriptions, protect accounts, and improve reliability.

• Account information, such as your name, email address, phone number, sign-in provider, user ID, and profile image if you choose to add one.
• User content, such as journal entries, reflections, chat messages, check-ins, mood and stress selections, garden progress, support preferences, and saved conversation history.
• Optional audio, speech, and camera information when you choose to use voice input, live voice, speech transcription, or video-related features.
• Optional health and wellness context, such as self-reported mood, stress, sleep, steps, or heart-rate summaries, when you enable or provide that context.
• Purchase and subscription information, such as App Store product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal state, and usage limits for Lumia Plus.
• App activity and technical data, such as feature interactions, device or app identifiers, diagnostics, crash-related information, notification preferences, and settings needed for app functionality.

How We Use Information

• Provide core app features, including journaling, AI guide conversations, Sanctuary, Garden, account access, and subscriptions.
• Personalize reflections, prompts, summaries, reminders, safety boundaries, and support suggestions.
• Process payments, restore purchases, enforce plan limits, and prevent subscription abuse.
• Maintain security, debug issues, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.
• Show crisis and safety resources where appropriate.

AI Processing

Lumia uses Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic and Lumia cloud services to generate supportive responses, summaries, reflections, and related self-care suggestions. When you use those features, relevant content you provide, such as chat messages, recent conversation history, optional summarized journal context, voice transcripts, audio for live voice features, camera frames when you explicitly enable camera sharing, or selected wellness context, may be sent to these services to return the requested feature. We do not use this information for third-party advertising or tracking. Lumia asks for your permission in the app before sending personal content to these AI services.

Service Providers

We rely on service providers to operate Lumia. These may include Apple services, Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database, storage, functions, analytics or diagnostics, Google Gemini and Firebase AI Logic for AI features, RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management, and other infrastructure providers needed to deliver the app. These providers process information on our behalf or as required to deliver their services, and we require them to provide the same or equal protection for personal information as described in this policy.

Tracking and Advertising

Lumia does not sell your personal information and does not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes. We do not share personal data with third-party advertising networks.

Data Choices and Controls

• You can choose whether to create an account, use optional voice or camera features, or provide optional wellness context.
• You can delete local journals, chats, health context, and app data from inside Lumia where supported.
• You can delete your Lumia account from inside the app by opening Profile, choosing Account, and selecting Delete Account.
• You can disable microphone, camera, speech recognition, notifications, and other permissions in your device settings.
• You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your account.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Lumia, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some data may remain in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Lumia is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

International Processing

Information may be processed in the United States, Canada, and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide notice where appropriate.
